Mysterious Salad *

"Someone" made a great salad today. What was inside I will let you guess. :)

* - mysterious for those who have missed it!

Glass Noodle Salad

A real treat today, absolutely worth the walk to the Asian grocery store if your local supermarket is not super equipped:

glass noodles
cover with boiling water, then drain

mung bean sprouts
carrot
red pepper

cover with hot water/broth for a bit, then drain and save some of the broth

red chili
fresh coriander
peanuts
spring onion

soy sauce
a bit of broth
peanut oil
sesame oil
lime juice
grated ginger

As this was seriously yummy, I dare say we are now officially back. 

Avocado and Pearl Onion Salad with Creamy Orange Dressing

Happy 2015!

We're back!

We have been admittedly slack on documentation.

Here's a lovely lazy start into the salad year of 2015:

1-2 avocados
tomatoes
balsamic / pearl onions
some  rocket, not much

And a dressing made from
balsamic vinegar
bitter orange marmalade
some mayonnaise
some yoghurt
salt

You could add a little fresh orange juice to the dressing or add orange filets to this.

Cross over avocado salad

Not sure where or what we are crossing over here, but I didn't verify there would be pistachios in Columbia, thus hesitant to follow a suggestion to name this South American avocado salad. It's probably as "South American" as the take away on the corner is "Asian".

2 avocados
a can of green beans
fresh coriander leaves
sundried tomatoes

dressing made out of
shallot
mustard
orange marmalade
brown sugar
lemon juice
salt
olive oil

Tuesday

cucumber
tomato
apple
with a christmessy dressing made from ginger jam, sesame oil, peanut oil, a little broth and soy sauce, pepper, some chilies
fresh coriander
sesame seeds

Add a few lentils for winter substance.
You could even fry some Urad daal for extra crunch.
